Dear friends,
Easter Greetings in the name of our risen Saviour Jesus.
We look forward to a challenging and inspiring Holy Week together. There is much to be encouraged by as we contemplate all that God has done for us through the death and resurrection of his Son. The apostle Paul urged the Church at Rome to be full of hope, faith and joy as they remembered the most powerful demonstration of God’s love.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
Love so amazing, so divine, demands our lives, our souls, our all. May this be a time where we all recommit our lives to the service and glory of God.
Just as we have been witnessing the delights of spring flowers bursting into life, so there are also all kinds of new life and growth springing up within the mission of our Church. It is a joy to hear about the growth of numbers attending and being supported through the outreach of Little Angels. We must always be patient as we sow seeds, and be willing to wait to see all the signs of new life and growth. Growth is occurring. It is happening in our worship services as we see new people come into Christchurch. It is happening as we engage in new ventures of faith and service.
What is particularly encouraging is not only to see growth and new people in our midst, but it is also thrilling to see Christchurch becoming more and more a multi-ethnic / multi-cultural Church fellowship. Christ unites all in and through His love and by His Spirit. This year we have new friends coming to worship who originate from India, Ghana, Russia, and the U.S.A. We want all to feel warmly welcomed and to know that they are valued and cared for within this Church.
Please note that from April all our mid – week Communion services will be held at 3.00pm and followed by refreshments. Support these in the future when you can. Our men’s breakfast takes place this month (22nd) and we hope it will be a wonderful time of friendship building and spiritual blessing. Invite men to come along and enjoy the occasion. Then at the end of the month, it is our special annual flower festival. This really is a golden opportunity to invite all our friends, family, and neighbours to enjoy a fantastic spectacle with wonderful food and refreshments. Let us make every effort to see that this event is well supported, and please pray for those arranging flowers, that they might be inspired with creativity and imagination. May the Spirit be with them and all who come to see and to taste good and beautiful things.
May you all know the love, peace and strength of God’ presence.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
Peter
