Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
Before Prayer changes others, it first changes us.
(Billy Graham)
This week, we are asked to pray for various initiatives sponsored by the UN to raise awareness of challenges around the world: the Global Day of Parents on 1st June, World Bicycle Day on 3rd and World Environment Day on 5th. We give thanks for all that parents, grandparents and great grandparents do to support family life and encourage the young. We pray for impoverished communities in Africa and Asia, for whom the bicycle is the main means of transport. We pray for our planet and the uncertainties brought by climate change.
Within Christchurch, we pray for Little Angels, asking for God’s blessing on the toddlers who make up this group and the adults who bring them along.
We continue our cycle of prayer for all who live in Abbeydale and Abbeymead, especially those with homes in Trinity Road, Trygrove and Upton Lane.
