Prayer Life

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18)

Before Prayer changes others, it first changes us.
(Billy Graham)

This week we are asked to pray for all the people who have visited our Flower Festival, asking for God’s blessing on their lives and praying that they will have been touched by the time spent in our Church.

We pray too for our ‘Month of Prayer’, which begins tonight with a time of open prayer in Church supported at home by those who cannot attend.  We are focusing on prayer for our Church vision, growth in our fellowship and for the state of our troubled world.

In the wider world this week, we pray for God’s hand to be upon elections taking place for English councils and for the Scottish and Welsh parliaments. We give thanks to God for the harvest the sea provides; we pray for justice for food producers in all parts of the world and for fair trade to prevail between the nations.

We continue our cycle of prayer for all who live in Abbeydale and Abbeymead, especially those with homes in Stoney Bridge, Sudgrove Park and Tansy Close.
