Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
Before Prayer changes others, it first changes us.
(Billy Graham)
This week we are asked to pray for our Annual Church Meeting on Wednesday, giving thanks in particular for all who serve on the Church Council and for those who run the many activities that take place in our Church. We also praise God for the many gifted and talented people we have in the Church, especially those responsible for the challenging task of mounting our Flower Festival. We bring before God all who will visit our Church next weekend and pray that they will be blessed in their lives.
In the wide world this week we pray for all who serve in the UK armed forces whether in combat roles or as peacekeepers, and we bring to God the delicate situations in several regions where peace has been shattered by war. With UN Health and Safety at Work Day falling on Tuesday, we also pray for all who undertake hazardous tasks on a daily basis to provide others with a comfortable standard of living.
We continue our cycle of prayer for all who live in Abbeydale and Abbeymead, especially those with homes in Staunton Close, Stewarts Mill Lane and Stonebrack Piece.
