Operation Christmas Child is a project managed by Samaritan’s Purse. Shoeboxes are filled with toys, personal care items, school supplies and fun gifts which are distributed to children around the world. The mission of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.

Christchurch Abbeydale is proud to support Operation Christmas Child, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. Below are some of the ways that the members Christchurch Abbeydale and the local community can support the project at a local level.

NEWS AND EVENTS
A Community Packing Party is planned for Friday 1st November between 10am – 12noon. This is where all the gifts and donations provided by the community during the year are packed into shoeboxes. Please come along to help if you can. All we ask is for a £5 donation per box to help cover transport and admin costs. It is taking place during school half term so it is a good opportunity for children to come along and get involved. Christmas cards will be on sale and refreshments will be available.

There will be a special service on Sunday 17 November (Shoebox Sunday) when the shoeboxes will be received and blessed before the onward journey to their final destinations.
